Most of the roads and bridges in the state were damaged or completely destroyed. This had huge impact on economic recovery, as it affects access to markets, as well as social cohesion and improved governance. The airport also needed major repairs to be restored to nationally (and internationally) acceptable standards. Entrepreneurs of The city of Baidoa led efforts in recent years to invest in the maintenance of the airport, which indicated a noteworthy commitment to boost the limited resources for recovery priority.
